Man does the time fly... Not being SUPER trunky or anything, but I'm 1/12 of the way through my mission. XD
This week has been great. Much learning with the Spanish, or what I've learned, the "Castellano" is what the Chileans call it, because they speak Spanish so differently.
I'll apologize now if my English is bad. They've let me know that that will most likely happen at some time in these 2 years. XD
So! This week. We're being kicked out of our house because the landlord's son is moving in, so we had to do a deep clean. We started in the kitchen because it was just NASTY. Some backstory first though. So there's been a leak in the kitchen and the tile is almost always wet, but I figured if no one in the apartment was worried about it, I didn't have to be. When we moved the sink, there was something alive under it. Now reading this, you'd probably be thinking Fungus, mice, rats, something ordinary, right?
Slugs. 4 big fat slugs were living under our sink. One of the Elders was so mad he took an aromatic spray can and proceeded to torch one of the slugs outside. That was pretty interesting...
But yeah, our house is mostly clean now and we're planning on moving out sometime in the next couple of weeks. We'll take the beds, the cube divider things for clothing and storage, and I think that's it? I'm not really sure.
So the first investigator I ever visited with my companion as a missionary was Maria. She is an older woman of 65 and her mom is still alive.
But yeah, Maria. She's getting baptized THIS SATURDAY. From what I can see, there's nothing standing in her way and she's SUPER excited to do it. Her husband is becoming interested as well so we're starting to teach him and committed him to a baptismal date as well.
So much more has happened, but I'm afraid I'm out of time! I love you all! I'm sorry the voice recording didn't work last week, I don't think I'll try that again! :)
Con Amor,
Elder Spencer Layne Robertson
(He tried to send pictures but the USB port on the computer wasn't working. Next time!)
