LOVE YOU ALL SEE YOU SOON
Well, it's been good. I don't think there's really a need to write anything else. I'm finishing up one page of my life and passing on to another. That's life for ya.
LOVE YOU ALL SEE YOU SOON
So I'm pretty sure our President is trying to keep us all on our toes...
Today, in the middle of the change, there were 3 zone leaders that finished the mission, and 3 new assistants called. Here in our ward, they pulled out the other companionship of Elders and left us with the entire sector and with half of another district under my wing as well.
These next 2 weeks are going to fly by.
We're seeing miracles as well. We had 2 investigators go to church and one of the them was someone that we simply talked to the day before. We're going to see what happens. :D
As well, in the other sector, they have a "less active" that they can't find a baptismal register... Which means to say that he might have to get baptized again... and now he's part of our sector... XD I MIGHT HAVE A BAPTISM IN MY LAST 2 WEEKS!!!
Talk about tender mercies!! XD
Love you all! See you soon!!
So we had a pretty fantastic week!! Lot's of teaching and lot's of working with the members! :D
So Juan got confirmed (FINALLY!!!!) It's been a long 3 months, but he finally made it to church and got BAPTIZED BY FIRE! We can finally relax about the whole situation now and focus more on the retention stage.
We're working hard!!! We're finding a lot of new investigators but not a lot of them are great quality. We're going to continue searching though to find those that want to come unto Christ!!!
In total, nothing new happened this week. Same old same old. XD I'll throw some pictures on though.
Have a fantastic week all!! See you all very soon!
Pictures : Mini cambios and Elder Rendon doing exercises in the morning. XD
Well, I don't have much time this week either!!! I'm really sorry!!! We did have a really amazing week though!!! We're working a ton more with the members, and we're finding SO many good people to teach!!! We found a total of 12 new investigators in the week!!! We're going to work hard to invite them all to come unto Christ!!!
Thank you all for your constant prayers!!! Love you all so much!!! See you soon!!! :D:D:D
I'd like to give you all a list of names that you can pray for!!
Elder Robertson is down to about 5 weeks left on his mission and decided to visit Chillan, his second area, to do some sightseeing and gather recuerdos (souvenirs). It's a 3 hour round-trip so his day was about done when he got online. He sends his love to everyone and he's excited to finish his mission strong!
Juan is still sick and hasn't been able to go to church. Spencer/Layne's dad suggested having him confirmed at his home so that's a possibility.
Till next week!
I'm staying!! :D The ward of Chillancito is my final resting place!!! Officially!! I'm staying with Elder Howell as well to finish off my time here in the mission field. It's going to be GREAT!!
So this week was pretty fantastic!! We're starting to do a LOT more activities here with the members to get them animated to help us out! We're starting up with an Insanity night on Tuesdays and an English Class on Saturdays. It's going to be AWESOME!!!
Juan is still sick and hasn't been able to get confirmed. :/ He's getting better though, so this week we'll be able to visit him, but it's going to be tough as well to get him to church soon. :/ But hey! That's life!
It's amazing how time flies. Every day I'm more and more amazed. It gives me even more reason to continue working with everything I've got. We're entering into the final stretch now, and it's time to give it my all. :D
Love you all!! Have a fantastic week!
Hey everyone!! We had a fantastic week this week!! The new President arrived!! President Arrington had about 2 hours to have lunch with him, and then he was off on his plane!! President Catala seems like a VERY amazing person. I'm excited to see where things go with him. I know that he's going to change this mission!
So in other news, Juan is VERY sick. He's been in bed for more than a week now with a major bronchitus. If you can all keep him in your prayers, that would be great!!
It looks like I'm following in the steps of Juan a little bit as well. XD On Wednesday, I started having a little bit of a cough, and then on Friday, I talked with the Medic of the mission and she sent me to the hospital where I found out that I have Pneumonia!!! :D:D:D It's a little strange though, because I don't feel like I'm sick... But I was stuck in the house Saturday and part of Sunday as a result. I don't feel much of a difference by all means after spending those 2 days in the house, but I got out working again last night!
On Tuesday I had a mini-cambio with Elder Araya (picture below) it was an awesome mini-cambio and my love for Elders from Santiago grew even more. XD
On Friday we had the conference to get to know President Catala and his family. His wife is from Taiwan and speaks spanish with a little bit of a oriental accent still (so cute!) and their son Joshua (coincidence?). They are an AWESOME little family! The best part? THEY SING!! They did a special musical number for us at the end of the conference. :D:D
After the conference, I had a mini-cambio with one of the Zone Leaders, Elder Cowley!! We ended up teaching 3 lessons and finding a new before heading to the hospital where I found out I had pneumonia. :D It was great!
And that's about it for now! We're working hard and planning on finding a LOT of new people to teach this week, so we'll have to see how things go!! Thank you all for your constant prayers and good wishes!! See you all soon!
There are a LOT of things that happened this week. I'll give you all a quick resumen:
Monday of last week, I left my backpack in Walmart (Líder) but someone turned it in instead of stealing it which NEVER happens here in Chile, Juan our investigator got married (!!!!!!) but then got sick and couldn't go to church to get confirmed :(, we had the farewell conference for President Arrington!!!! Had a mini-cambio on Friday with Elder Flores, Chile won the Copa America for the second year in a row!!! (Last year they won it for the first time in history, and so this is their second title. Just so happens they won these two times while I've been here in Chile... :o) this morning we had a chess tournament, and I came out undefeated!!!! :D:D Not much of an accomplishment in the end though, because latinos don't know how to play. XD
To go into a little more detail on a couple of those things, leaving Walmart, I pulled out all of the grocery bags and left my backpack sitting in the shopping cart. Now, the thing is that here in Chile, they're very well known for robbing things, so when we got off the bus in our sector, 30 minutes out from Walmart, I lost all hope. We headed back and I was praying the entire time, and when we got there, someone had grabbed my bag and turned it in to customer services. :O The tender mercies of the Lord are real!!!
President Arrington will be leaving soon after President Catala gets here on Wednesday. It's going to be crazy to see what all the changes are going to be, but it's going to be great as well!! It's time to whip this mission into shape!!
And that's basically it for this week!! I'll throw on a couple of pictures and say goodbye!! Have a great week all!! We'll see each other soon! :D
President Arrington and his wife, Elders and "Todo volado" means "everyone's drugged" basically. This is a part of our sector called the Isla. :D:D Lots of drugs and stuff floating around here, but luckily nothing happens to us!!
So I'll be honest!!! It's been a pretty tough week, but I'll let you all know why.
So I don't know if you have all seen it, but Chile has gone into all sorts of strikes, protests, and whatnot. The good news is, most of that stuff is happening in Santiago and not where I'm at. The bad news, is that almost all of the schools are going into halt because the students are the ones doing the protesting. Because of that, almost all of our investigators don't have anything to do and are traveling back to their respective homes in Chile to wait out the protests, which means that we are left with almost no one to teach. XD It was a good experience as well though, we had a lot of opportunity to search for new investigators this week and we found some pretty cool people as well. :D
Other than that, things have been great!! My new companion and I have been getting along splendidly, and we're both getting used to how each one of the us teach and do things. Every time you change companions there's a time like this, so we're basically just doing normal stuff in that aspect. :D
I try not to spend a lot of time thinking about the time that's already past in the mission, but it's really incredible to see how much time has past. Thinking in that though, I always try to come out of those moments ready to work even harder. That's the most important, right? :D
We went to a beach this morning!! It was awesome and we had to walk through a pitch-black tunnel to get there. Awesome!!
So that's about it for this week!!! Hope you all have a fantastic week and we'll see you all soon!! :D:D
Another week past and gone! Amazing how the time flies!
This week has been pretty fantastic!! It got REALLY cold suddenly though! We're going through a little bit of time without rain so it tends to get really cold in the evenings and at night.
Other than that, my new companion Elder Howell is AWESOME!! He's a jokester in all the meanings of the word, but he still focuses in the moments where being focused is important. We worked like crazy this week, but unfortunately yesterday I got a little sick so we weren't able to go out and work.
We're up and ready though to head to work this week! We hope that this week Juan will (finally) have a date to get married, which he still is struggling to get, and then he will be able to get confirmed!
I hope you all have a fantastic week! Thanks for your constant prayers! See you all soon!
