Cambios!
I got an Elder from Herriman by the name of Elder Copling. He's super cool and was the runningback for Herriman High, so he's super big. I'm honestly not afraid of being robbed anymore. XD
Maria Albornoz, our recent convert, her mom died on Tuesday. Her mom was unresponsive and laying in her bed for the past 3 months I've been here and it got to the point she stopped eating so we knew it was going to happen. She still showed up to church happy as could be though, even though she was in a black dress for mourning. :/ Sad, but she knows that she's in a better place now and she's going to see her again!
In our house, Elder Acton went and we (finally) received a latino! His name's Elder Fraga, and he's from Mexico! He's got a degree in Chemical Engineering and he's 26, but still an awesome guy! I'm SUPER excited for this cambio! :)
So something I've really been hit hard with on my mission is goalsetting. In our lives, goals are something SUPER important that we need to be doing every day, week, month, and year. If we don't set goals, we're not going to go anywhere with our lives. We're not going to improve, and improving is what God and our Brother, Jesus Christ want us to do with our lives. Every week when we take the Sacrament, are we saying, "Okay, this week, I'm going to do better!" Or are we telling ourselves that and setting a goal and plan to achieve it?
I love the mission. Really if we follow this process, we're going to be SUCH better people every single day! All it takes is some time, willpower, and DESIRE, to plan it out and put it into action!
I love you all. Thank you so much for the support that I'm receiving and the prayers as well. I can definitely see the Lord's Hand in my life and I'm so grateful for it. I challenge you all to have some goals set for this new year, and watch yourself CHANGE through the help that you'll receive from God.
Talk to you next week!
